The Digital Immortality Institute says we can preserve as much of people as technology can store all aspects of their data: words, pictures, sounds, etc. The cost of preservation technology gets cheaper by the minute. We have the tools to turn this data into representations and display it to the world—and these tools improve daily. A digital persona is the digital representation of a person. They can range from simple personal websites to fully interactive artificial persons. DII proposes three classes of digital personas: website, Turing-class, and fully interactive. These correspond to what the technology is capable of today, tomorrow, and in the future.
